Rules of the 3 rd Luxor Egyptian & European Film Festival
Preamble
The Luxor Egyptian & European Film Festival is an annual competitive event organized by Noon Foundation for Culture and Arts with the contribution of the Egyptian Ministry of Culture as well as public and private organisms in Egypt and Europe.
Its goal is to foster the knowledge and diffusion in Egypt of the Egyptian and European cinematographic and audiovisual works, to promote cultural exchanges between Egypt and Europe as well as to attract a new audience for cinema in Higher Egypt.
ARTICLE 1
The Luxor Egyptian & European Film Festival will hold its third edition from
24st to the 31th of January 2015
ARTICLE 2
A selection committee consisting of critics and filmmakers will choose the films to be presented as part of the Luxor Egyptian & European Film Festival, under the responsibility of the festival's president.
ARTICLE 3
The Festival is made up of the following sections:

ARTICLE 4
A jury consisting of Egyptian and European Cinema professionals will award the prizes of the festival.

ARTICLE 6
- For pre-selection, films must be in high quality DVDs. The final deadline for the submission of 2 DVDs of any film to the festival address is September 30, 2014.
- Submission forms, available on the festival's site , must be filled and sent by E-mail before September 30, 2014.
- The DVD should be marked "with no commercial value and for cultural prepress's only"
- The sender of the DVD will bear the shipping cost to the festival's address.
- The festival is entitled to keep for its own library the DVD's sent for selection.
ARTICLE 7
- Prints of the films should be sent at the address of the festival before December 15, 2014.
- The selected films should be sent along with a promotional material: 3 posters, the trailer and film clips on DVD or DigiBeta for the purpose of promoting the screenings of the films in the festival.
- The festival will bear the shipping charges from the source of the print to Cairo and the cost of reshipping within 2 weeks after the closing of the festival.
- Prints of the films received from abroad will be submitted to the rules of the temporary admission in Egypt.
ARTICLE 8
General conditions of participation in all sections of the festival
- Films participating in the festival will be shown in original version and subtitled in English (the original language is that in which the film has been shot in its country)
- The festival will bear the cost of the Arabic electronic subtitles.
- The Egyptian films will be screened with English subtitles.
- No film can be withdrawn from the program during the festival
- The festival accepts the films selected in 35mm, BluRay or Data (.mov) files.
- Each film participating in the festival will be shown 3 times maximum
- The festival’s management commits to preserving the received film copies, starting from their arrival date in Cairo and until their return.
- All above mentioned conditions and dates are obligatory.
ARTICLE 9
The festival will insure insurance coverage of the film print upon arrival at Cairo International Airport and until its reshipment.
In the event of film loose, the festival's responsibility is limited to the value declared by the producer in the film registration form. Any damage / lose claims must be sent to the festival within one month of the closing of the festival or the claim might be rejected by the insurance company.
ARTICLE 10
These rules are written in Arabic and translated in English and French. In case of false interpretation, the rules in Arabic will act as proof. The president of the festival is the only person empowered to clarify any litigious issue in these rules. In case of litigation, Egyptian Law and Egyptian tribunals will be seized.
